In Icelandic, kubba means to build by assembling toy blocks, a word children often use when inviting each other to play. The Kubba side table embodies this sense of playfulness, merging sculpture and furniture through an arrangement of walnut blocks. These wooden pieces are off-cuts from furniture production, now reimagined in a new context. The building process starts at the centre with a single block, then grows outward as more are added. Rather than following a fixed plan, the form emerges gradually. Shaped by intuition and discovered through the act of making.
